First impressions seemed to show very little from both the models (Inspira and Lancer) although they did quite a good job with the V-shape nose with the Proton emblem in front in place of the standard Mitsubishi shark nose. According to Proton, they have also put in quite a lot of effort to break away from the Lancer’s aggressive look meant for the speedsters where Proton intends to target the more family oriented driver.
Pricing for the Inspira seemed to be the main attraction factor here where it comes in 3 variants. For Peninsular Malaysia, the Proton Inspira 1.8 M/T (Manual Transmission) is priced at RM78,999 while the Proton Inspira 1.8 CVT is priced at RM84,999 and the top of the range Proton Inspira 2.0 CVT is sold for RM91,999. East Malaysia buyers would have to pay an additional RM2,000 for each of the model.
The Inspira is equipped with 16 inch tyres which are the Continental Comfort Contact CC5 that were made specially for this. If you have seen the Lancer, you will find that there are lesser differences with the interiors apart from the standard branding fittings like the steering wheel and the gear knob. It also comes with the multi-info screen which is also the same on fitted in the Lancer.
